Ruby and Troy Wertenberger held a barbecue and picnic for their son Braylin and daughter Heather in honor of their college graduation. Family and friends helped celebrate with Braylin and Heather.


The Hallenbeck and Villa families, along with Chuck Silengo and Chris Brookshire, traveled to Silver Plume and spent the day riding the historic train and touring a silver mine and the museum in town.

The 4-H Archery Club took its annual end-of-year camping trip this week. Archers Paige Barnes, Taylor Powell, Richard Hallenbeck, Garrett St. Claire, Liam and Daylon Frentress, Tyler Boyer and Tyler Hockaday, along with club leader Shawn Hockaday and volunteer Dennis Hallenbeck, went to Sheriffs Reservoir to camp, fish and practice survival skills.

Colorado Northwestern Community College is offering a class called Homesteading. The class will discuss the lifestyles and everyday life of a homesteader, laws and more. A field trip to the Josie Bassett ranch near Dinosaur is Aug. 19. The class will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Hayden Heritage Museum.
