Happenings

School starts this week, so please be aware of the students riding their bikes or walking to school. Open house for Hayden Secondary Schools is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The first SIT meeting is at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the high school. Middle and high school parents are welcome to attend this meeting. The school also is looking for volunteers to help with the Booster Club. For more information, call Barbara Manzanares at the middle school at 970-276-3762 or Shelly Boyer at the high school at 970-276-3761.

The town of Hayden in the past has made small donations to local nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits may submit a donation request to the town and in the event that funds become available, the town will be able to again give funds to these nonprofits. Pick up your application from Town Hall or download one at http://www.townofhayden.org. Applications are due Sept. 16.

The Hayden Girl Scouts are getting ready to start a new year and are short a few great leaders, so if you are interested, call Lori Laird at 970-846-0782 for information on becoming a leader or enrolling your daughter.

The Totally Kids football teams played in Craig this week. The third- and fourth-grade team and the fifth- and sixth-grade teams were defeated. Both teams played a great game, and they will be playing again this week.
