Karen Burley: Grateful for support

The third annual Haven BBQ, Barn Dance and Silent Auction was June 23 at The Haven. New to the event this year were silent and online auctions full of unique wellness and outdoor activity items.

Because of the generosity and participation of sponsors, silent auction donors and bidders, in-kind donations and the attendance of 289 individuals, we were able to gross more than $12,000 for a much-needed fire sprinkler system and roof and window repairs at The Haven. Our supporters also helped to make the event so much fun. We are very grateful for your support.

I would also like to thank the staff of The Haven and the Visiting Nurse Association. You volunteered your time to hang posters, make the fantastic food, advertise auction items online, set up the event, clean up when it was over, provide activities for the kids and ensure everyone had plenty to eat and had a good time. We couldn’t do it without the generous donation of your time.

And, thank you to Loose Change for providing fantastic music for the third year. Your talent is an amazing draw to this event. We appreciate the soft spot in your hearts for our seniors and the home we provide for them.
