Jacquelyn Greenspan and family: Parrot, lost and found
July 30, 2014
Steamboat Springs — My name is Jacquelyn Greenspan, and my family was the one that lost our African Grey Parrot, Kahli, in Steamboat a little over a week ago.
As you may or may not know, we thankfully found her, with the help of City Council member Scott Ford and his wife, as well as Officer Nick Bosick, of the Steamboat Police Department.
Kahli landed on the sun tea the Fords were making on their deck looking for a drink. They brought her inside and kept her safe until Officer Bosick brought me up to get her.
Although we offered a reward, Mr. Ford and his wife preferred that my family write a letter thanking the city of Steamboat instead and said that he hopes that it will encourage people to help in the return of other lost pets.
We also would like to thank the entire city of Steamboat from the shopkeepers who let me hang our "Missing Bird" signs in their windows, to all the citizens we came upon in our search who said they would keep an eye out for her. We would also like to thank Animal Control for all of their help as well as the vets at the Pet Kare Clinic who made sure Kahli was OK after her adventure.
Steamboat is a wonderful town, and I cannot thank everyone enough for their help.
