High man was roughhousing with Rottweilers when he was bitten

Steamboat Springs — What initially was reported as a man attacked by three Rottweilers turned out to be not so serious.
Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies and Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called at about 3 p.m. Wednesday to help the 40-year-old man who was bleeding in the 21100 block of Miles Ranch Lane.
Undersheriff Ray Birch said the man was admittedly high when he went to his neighbor's house and was roughhousing with the dogs when one of them bit him.
"The guy bit was very high on 'medical marijuana' and was having difficulty remembering details," Birch said in an email.
Oak Creek firefighter took the man to Yampa Valley Medical Center.
Birch said the man was bitten on his forearm and had a small scratch on his buttocks.
Birch said animal control officer Cindy DelValle followed up on the incident Thursday and does not expect to file any charges against the dogs' owner.
"The dogs were on their property and the act was more or less provoked by the guy who was bitten," Birch said.
