Healthy eating: Green beans Far East

1 pound green beans
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
5 oz. can sliced water chestnuts
Steam green beans until tender, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan melt the butter, add onion and stir until onion is soft. Add sugar, salt and pepper and cook one more minute. Allow onion mixture to cool, then stir in the yogurt and rice vinegar. In a serving bowl, toss green beans with water chestnuts and yogurt mixture. Serves four.
