Hayden girls basketball rolls in Walden on Friday

— The Hayden High School girls basketball team set the stage Friday for a huge early-season showdown at 4 p.m. Saturday against Little Snake River High School out of Baggs, Wyo. The Tigers downed North Park, 65-26, to ensure both squads would enter the game undefeated.

"Baggs is a great team. They're quick, they're hustlers, and we have to come out and be ready to have a good, strong defensive front," Hayden coach Michelle Wilkie said.

The squad looked up the challenge Friday in Walden, especially in the second half when it opened up what had been a 14-point halftime lead.

Senior Erin Koehler scored 26 points. Kelsey Rolando hit four 3-point shots for 12 points, and Aubree Haskins scored 10. Brette Frentress and Meghan Jezo each added six, and Olivia Zehner scored five points.

"I was pleased with the second half," Wilkie said. "It was much better than the first."
