Hayden girl wins Colorado wool contest
November 9, 2011
Hayden student and 4-H member Heather Nereson won first place in the Colorado Make it with Wool contest Saturday for a peacoat she made from merino wool.
The contest judging was held at the Good Luck 4-H building at the Adams County Fairgrounds. Nereson's 4-H sewing instructor, Rosemary Farrow, entered the contest in the adult category.
Nereson, who spent at least three days every week this summer working on her coat, now will continue on to the national Make it with Wool contest in Scottsdale, Ariz. The contests are sponsored by the Colorado Wool Growers and the American Sheep Industry Association.
