Green Truss Bridge replacement in Routt County would cost $816,000
October 22, 2012
Steamboat Springs — The Routt County Board of Commissioners could decide Tuesday to apply for a grant through a federal bridge program that would require the county to supply a $163,2000 match to replace the Green Truss Bridge over the south fork of the Williams Fork River on Routt County Road 67.
The total cost of the project is $816,000, and the grant request is for $652,800. The old one-lane bridge, built in 1920, is in the southwest corner of Routt County. County Manager Tom Sullivan estimated in a memo to the commissioners that the county’s portion of the grant match approximates the cost of a repair to the bridge, which has been deemed structurally deficient. Replacing the bridge would save maintenance over time, he wrote.
The hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room on the third floor of the downtown courthouse in Steamboat Springs.
