Prime overnight snowmaking temperatures have allowed Steamboat Ski Area snowmaking crews to cover additional terrain on the mountain resulting in new trails and lifts opening this week.

On Wednesday, Four Points lift will start turning and the following trails will open: middle Giggle Gulch, Park Lane, Short Cut, upper Rainbow, Skyline, upper Burgess Creek Lift Line, upper Hurricane and White Out.

The new openings bring the resort to a total of 23 trails and five lifts accessing 145 acres across the mountain, including a variety of beginner, intermediate and expert trails.

Crews will next focus on moving the resort’s high-efficiency snow guns to locations around Storm Peak Express to build a base on more trails in the area.
