Forest rangers discuss summer projects with Routt County commissioners
March 11, 2013
Steamboat Springs — Hahns Peak District Ranger Jamie Kingsbury and Yampa District Range Jack Lewis of the Medicine Bow Routt National Forest will call on the Routt County Board of Commissioners at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday to brief them about projects anticipated to take place on the forest this summer.
The projects could include continuing road improvements through July 1 on Buffalo Pass, tentative plans to explore more parking for recreational vehicles on Rabbit Ears Pass, and ongoing efforts to thin dead and dying trees in the forests surrounding Routt County and turn the timber into usable forest products.
The meeting will take place in the Commissioners' Hearing Room on the upper floor of the Routt County Courthouse, 522 Lincoln Ave. in Steamboat Springs.
