Feddersen inducted into Hall of Fame

Joel Reichenberger

— Steamboat Springs freestyle skiing pioneer Kris “Fuzz” Feddersen formally was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame on Saturday. Feddersen now lives in Park City, Utah, but was a longtime fixture of the Steamboat freestyle skiing scene. He skied for 14 years in aerials with the U.S. Ski Team, earning 23 podiums.

Feddersen, who earned his nickname thanks to his wild hair, moved with his family to Steamboat when he was 10 years old. He earned two top-five finishes at the Olympics when aerials still was a demonstration sport, then competed in the Olympics in 1994, as well. He also helped coach U.S. freestyle skiers in 1998, when Americans took three of the four available gold medals.
