Africa Yoga Project community dinner and silent auction

6 to 7:30 p.m. | Bud Werner Memorial Library, 1289 Lincoln Ave.

Rakta Hot Yoga hosts Africa Yoga Project on its Handstands Hugs & Happiness Tour for a community dinner, dancing and silent auction at Library Hall. Africa Yoga Project uses yoga as a tool to educate, empower and employ youth, helping people around the world realize their power to effect change. Retail will be available for sale. Bob Enever – Steamboat’s Osprey Family

6 to 7 p.m. | Off the Beaten Path, 68 Ninth St.

Off The Beaten Path will be hosting a book talk and signing for local author Bob Enever, celebrating his book, “Steamboat’s Osprey Family.” The book showcases the first osprey family in Steamboat in the 21st century. The story follows the family’s journey from nest building to learning to fly.

37th Aanual Yampa River Festival

Noon to 7 p.m. |Charlie’s Hole

Hala Gear SUP Downriver Sprint begins at 12:30 p.m., meet at 11:30 a.m. at Fetcher Pond. The Paddleboard Adventure Company SUP Cross begins at 3 p.m., meet at 2 p.m. at Charlie’s Hole. “C-Hole Stomp and Surf Session” follows SUP Cross. Up to $1,000 purse. Africa Yoga Project Community Yoga Class

10 to 11 a.m. | Olympian Hall, 845 Howelsen Pkwy.

Rakta Hot Yoga hosts Africa Yoga Project on its Handstands Hugs & Happiness Tour. All are invited to a one-hour, all-ages, all-levels yoga flow class followed by conversation with instructors. Africa Yoga Project uses yoga as a tool to educate, empower and employ youth, helping people across the world realize their power to effect change.

 

Stagecoach State Park weekend events
10 to 11 a.m., 5 to 6:30 p.m. | Stagecoach State Park, 2550 Routt County Road 14

Try Gyotaku Fish Printing, starting at 10 a.m. at the Stagecoach Marina deck. The archery station will be open from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for kids of any age to test their aim.

 

Piknik Theatre auditions

Saturday and Sunday | 4 to 6 p.m. | Depot Art Center, 1001 13th St.

Audition for the 2017 Piknik Theatre Festival production of Shakespeare’s "The Merchant of Venice." Piknik Theatre will share the stage with equity actors from New York.
