Denise Gardner: Upbeat post office spirit

Yesterday I dashed to the post office at 4:30 p.m. to mail my Christmas packages just under the deadline. There was a long line winding out into the hallway. Taking a deep breath, I prepared to just be patient.

Surprisingly, the line moved quickly to the four open counters. I observed the post office employees cheerfully chatting with each customer. They were efficient and friendly as they processed the packages. The crowded room was full of Merry Christmas wishes and Happy Holiday greetings called out by the postal staff.

I want to thank Robin, Eva, Bob, Cathy and all the other local postal workers for sharing the holiday spirit with me and and the rest of our community.  I was out the door by 4:45 p.m. full of good cheer!
