Convicted Steamboat murderer featured in TV program

— Convicted Steamboat Springs murderer Jill Coit, infamous for the "Black Widow" killing, is back in the limelight as part of an Investigation Discovery series.

"Facing Evil With Candice Delong" features a prison interview with Coit, who still maintains her innocence in the much-publicized shooting death of her ex-husband, 52-year-old Steamboat businessman Gerald Boggs, on Oct. 21, 1993.

The show, which follows former FBI criminal profiler Delong as she interviews incarcerated criminals, will air at 10 p.m. Friday on Comcast channel 271 during the program's Black Widows Week.

In the episode, DeLong goes behind prison walls at Florida's Homestead Correctional Institution to interview Coit about the "Black Widow" killing, which drew international attention. The interest of newspapers and tabloid TV shows didn't wane until the case was eclipsed by the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

Ultimately, Coit and her boyfriend, Michael Backus, were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole.
