Alex Estes, track and field

2010 graduate of Soroco High School, junior at Adams State University

Estes finished third in the long jump at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships, leaping to 7.16 meters, or 23 feet, 6 inches. The achievement earned Estes all-RMAC second-team honors.

Kevin Bertrand, lacrosse

2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Adams State University

Bertrand earned a major and unique honor for Adams State after playing his final career game for the Grizzlies. He had his No. 15 jersey retired. Bertrand, who was at Adams State for the founding of the program, earned all-league honorable mention honors as a midfielder.

2009 graduate of Hayden High School, senior at CSU-Pueblo

Salazar finished seventh in the discus, eighth in the hammer throw, ninth in the shot put and 17th in the javelin at the RMAC conference championships. Salazar now waits to hear whether she will compete at the national championship meet, set for later this month.
