City offers updates on construction projects







Work is set to continue this week on construction projects in the Yampa and Oak street areas.

On Yampa Street, the one-block closure between Sixth and Seventh streets will continue for This week. Both intersections will remain open to vehicular traffic, and the block is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic late in the week.

Also continuing this week, Yampa Street will remain closed to vehicular traffic between the intersections at 10th and 12th streets as crews continue work to install a new concrete raised intersection at 11th Street. The 10th and 12th street intersections will remain open to vehicular traffic. This closure is expected to last until early June.

On Oak Street, work this week will focus on the following areas.

• The Eighth and Oak street parking lot is to be milled, overlaid with asphalt and restriped, and trees will be installed on the entire block.

• Construction on the south side of Seventh and Eighth streets will continue with the installation of concrete sidewalk, resetting existing paver sidewalk and the installation of curb and gutter.

• Handicapped ramps with stamped, colored concrete will be installed on the northwest corner of Seventh and Oak streets.

• Prep work will begin for the installation of sidewalk, curb and gutters on the north side of Seventh and Eighth streets.

All business will remain open during construction. Signage and wayfinding will continue to be installed during the required closures. Construction hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, if necessary.
