City offers construction updates

Work continues on the Yampa River Core Trail replacement between 10th and 11th streets, including a new concrete curb and gutter and splash band, which were completed last week. Crews also completed ornamental grasses and striping installations near the 12th and Yampa street intersection and installed sod along the edge of Little Toots park.

Yampa Street work planned for the coming week includes the following.

  • Core Trail work will continue, with a focus on moving toward the Ambulance Barn between 10th and 11th streets. A section of the Core Trail will be partially closed during this time.
  • The public parking lot at Ninth and Yampa streets will remain open in the coming weeks. This parking lot will be closed following Labor Day as crews work to reconstruct the parking lot.

Emerald Park access

Roadway closures for the new approach to the south of the Hampton Inn remain the same. Access to the Hampton Inn will be limited to the northern approach until the middle of September. Detour signs are in place to direct motorists accordingly. Work progress during the past week included site grading, roadway embankment, and utility coordination on the eastside of the tracks.

For the coming week, planned work includes site grading and roadway embankment on the Emerald Park side of the tracks and utility coordination and installation of drainage improvements on the eastside of the tracks.
