Charlie MacArthur: Thanks to Steamboat Resort

As we wait for winter to make a permanent appearance in the valley, it’s important to be grateful for those residents working hard to ensure the ill-effects of a long fall are not long remembered. As a daily user of Steamboat’s Uphill Access program, I would like to specifically thank the resort for their generous policy in regards to uphill resort access.

The guidelines enforced by Steamboat are not industry standard and are far more accommodating than those of similar resorts. Over the past five years there’s been a dramatic increase in uphill participants and a corresponding uptick in conflicts both potential and actual.

Please keep in mind the privilege of uphill access; 1) Make yourself visible, 2) Give space and thanks to the crews working to provide you a venue, and 3) Respect signage and closures.

We’ll see everyone for the first Cody’s Town Series race of the season at 6 p.m. Dec. 20 — https://www.facebook.com/SteamboatSkiAscentSeries/.

With gratitude,

Charlie MacArthur
