Business File: Thursday lunch event focuses on tech tools

Steamboat Springs — Colorado Mountain College's Small Business Resource Center, SCORE and the Routt County Economic Development Cooperative present a Success Steps lunch seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Steamboat Smokehouse, 912 Lincoln Ave. The seminar is titled No Cost/Low Cost Tech Tools You Can Put to Work. The event's focus is to help people, entrepreneurs and business owners identify Web-based tools that can improve commerce, productivity, security and organization, according to a news release. The $15 cost includes a buffet lunch. CDs with access to Web-based tools will be distributed. Scott Ford, of the economic cooperative, and Roger Good, of SCORE, will lead the discussion. Backpacker Magazine coming to Ski Haus
Backpacker Magazine is bringing its Get Out More Tour, presented by Woolrich, to Ski Haus at 7 p.m. Sept. 14. Tour leaders Randy and Sheri Propster will visit Steamboat Springs as part of their nationwide effort to promote the outdoors. Several Chamber events scheduled for next week
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is offering several events this month for members of the business community. A Business Outlook Breakfast is at 8 a.m. Sept. 15 at Rex's American Grill & Bar, adjoining the Holiday Inn at Steamboat Springs. A panel representing various industries will discuss the economy and future outlooks. Coffee and pastries will be provided. The cost is $10 for Chamber members.
A Corks & Connections event, which includes business tips while networking over wine, is at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Cellar Liquors, 730 Lincoln Ave. Space is limited. The cost is $10 for Chamber members.
Finally, an informational meeting about an opportunity to visit China through the Chamber is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at Rex's.

Speed networking event Sept. 21 at the Truffle Pig
The Chamber and the Truffle Pig restaurant are hosting a speed networking event from 3 to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Truffle Pig, at the base of Steamboat Ski Area adjoining One Steamboat Place.
