The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is offering two networking events this week: an after-hours mixer Wednesday and speed networking Thursday. The mixer is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Anglers Drive office complex, near McDonald's restaurant. The event offers free food and drinks, prizes and business connections in a social atmosphere for Chamber members and their guests. Speed networking is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at The Boathouse Pub. The cost of $5 for members and $15 for nonmembers includes entry fee, appetizers and drink tickets. SmartDreamzzz releases daytime relaxation CD
Steamboat Springs-based SmartDreamzzz, which made a name for itself with the children's bedtime relaxation CD Animal Dreamzzz, has turned its focus toward children's daytime activities. The company founded by child and family psychology expert Kristen Race has released Day Dreamzzz, developed to help parents, teachers and day care providers, according to a news release. The new CD is designed to help children relax in the daytime.

Registration open for Home and Garden Expo
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association's third annual Home and Garden Expo is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 8 at The Steamboat Grand. Chamber members in good standing are invited to exhibit for $100. The registration deadline is April 30. The event is free and open to the community. Scholarship offered for women in agriculture
The Colorado Master Farm Homemaker Guild is offering a $500 scholarship to a Colorado woman with an agricultural background. Called the "Second Chance Scholarship," it will go to someone who had her college education interrupted or postponed and hopes to attend college, a trade school or another secondary education institution. Requirements are three references; a biographical statement of work history, community involvement and future goals; and a statement about why the applicant thinks she deserves the scholarship.
All applications must be returned to the Colorado Master Farm Homemaker Guild by May 15. The award must be used in the year it is received.
