Business File: Chamber hosts workers’ comp, health care events

Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is hosting upcoming events about workers' compensation and the new health care overhaul legislation. From 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn of Steamboat Springs, a Pinnacol Assurance Workers' Compensation Safety Seminar will focus on case studies about health hazard issues for employers and entrepreneurs to consider. Pinnacol Assurance's Western Slope industrial hygienist, Sarah Robbins, will lead the free seminar. No RSVP is required.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 12 at The Steamboat Grand, the Chamber will host a forum about new health care legislation and how it could affect local businesses. Meeting focuses on child care's economic impact

State, Chamber hosting small business meeting
Groups including Steamboat's Chamber, Colorado's Small Business Development Center Advisory Board and Gov. Bill Ritter's Small Business Advisory Council will host a meeting from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 21 at The Steamboat Grand, to discuss solutions for barriers to small business.
