Business briefs: Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty participates in conference

Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Sotheby's International Realty co-owners Pam Vanatta and Cam Boyd participated in the 2014 Sotheby's International Realty Leadership Forum, according to a news release.
About 300 members from across the world attended the three-day event at The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida, the release states.
"The Leadership Forum provides a great value to our firm," Vanatta said in the release. "It was exciting to meet so many Sotheby's real estate offices around the world expressing their client's current desires for Colorado ski properties. It was a great confirmation of what we already knew — we live in an amazing part of the world that is only increasing in popularity and demand."
"The Leadership Forum brings together our network members from all over the world with the common goal of sharing their unique experiences and market insights," Philip White, president and chief executive officer of Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC, said in the release. "This year's conference provided attendees with an overview of the brand's strategic vision and priorities for the future. They heard about our exciting and innovative plans on the marketing front and how to leverage our unique relationship with the Sotheby's Auction House."
Cindy MacGray earns Certified Residential Specialist designation
Steamboat Sotheby's International Realty agent Cindy MacGray was awarded the Certified Residential Specialist designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, according to a news release.
The Council of Residential Specialists is a not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.
"I love learning new and better ways to work with Buyers and Sellers, and the CRS training pushes me to new levels," MacGray said in the release.
Those who receive the CRS designation must complete "advanced professional training and demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate," the release states.
Only 3 percent of Realtors nationwide have earned the credential, according to the release.
The release states that MacGray also is a Certified International Property Specialist, a Certified Distressed Property Expert and a Certified Negotiation Expert.
Coldwell Bankers Distinctive Properties brokers honored for work
Two Coldwell Bankers Distinctive Properties brokers were recognized for their work in 2013, according to a news release.
The Legacy of the Year award went to Steve Novack. The award goes to the individual who contributes the most to the growth of the office. Novack also received the Most Improved Award for utilizing the tools offered by Coldwell Banker, according to the release.
Dave Moloney received the Rookie of the Year award, which is given to the agent that produces the highest gross commission in his or her first year with the office.
Mike Shuttleworth and Vicky Jackson, The Previews Team, were honored with the Team of the Year award for producing the highest team gross commission.
The Salesperson of the Year award went to Dutch Elting, according to the release.
Lorraine Morrison was given The Distinctive Angel award for being the agent that gives the most of herself or has the greatest impact on the community.

Alpine Bank opens Denver branch in new Union Station neighborhood
Alpine Bank opened its first Denver branch April 4 in the IMA building in the new Union Station neighborhood, according to a news release.
The bank also announced a contest for LoDo Denver entrepreneurs, with the winner receiving a $100,000 two-year, interest-free loan for a business plan that positively impacts the neighborhood.
"We are thrilled to open our first location in downtown Denver, and expand our services from the mountains to the city," Norm Franke, regional president, said in the release. "It is particularly exciting to be opening our first Denver branch in the new Union Station neighborhood, which will be a hub of activity and the perfect locale to introduce Denver businesses and residents to our services."
Alpine Bank is headquartered in Glenwood Springs and has 37 offices throughout Colorado, including Steamboat Springs.
