■ Transferred from Steamboat Springs High School in April of his junior year to The Winter Sports School in Park City, Utah, to give himself one year to try to make it in Nordic combined. It worked.

■ Won his first World Cup in Norway in 2011. He won the prestigious King's Cup and got to meet the king of Norway.
