Brett Barkey: Expressing appreciation

I gratefully accept Gov. John Hickenlooper’s appointment as district attorney for the 14th Judicial District. It is a great honor and privilege to continue in public service in this role.

I also want to express my profound appreciation for Elizabeth Oldham’s eight years of service to Moffat, Routt and Grand counties in the District Attorney’s Office, including her last four years as the elected district attorney. She will be greatly missed, and I wish her all success in her new position in the District Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial District.

I am very proud of the team we have in this office and the important work we do on behalf of the citizens of our community, most particularly the victims of crime. I look forward to continuing our strong partnership with law enforcement agencies, community advocates and other stakeholders in the criminal justice system.

There is no greater honor and privilege than to serve as the people’s representative in the courts of our wonderful community.
