Partners in Routt County honors National Mentoring Month
Partners in Routt County is celebrating mentoring and its benefits to youth in the Steamboat Springs community during National Mentoring Month. The nonprofit is inviting people to become a mentor and be one of the group's "30 Mentors in 30 Days" campaign to find enough mentors to serve all of the kids on the waiting list.
Partners is also encouraging community members to "flock their friends." For $20, someone can request a flock of pink flamingos to be placed in a yard of their choice. The flock will roost for about 24 hours before migrating to another location.
For those afraid they'll get flocked, anti-flocking insurance can be purchased. Funds raised help to support the local mentoring programs.
