Steamboat Springs — Lt. Col. Jack Dysart and four cadets from the Steamboat Springs Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron accepted the donations of American and Colorado flags from American Legion Post No. 44 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4264 on Wednesday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center, according to a news release.
The flags will enable the cadets to perform color guard for Steamboat Springs and surrounding areas.
"We thank Jim Stanko, the Legion and the VFW for their support and helping us to be of service to our community," Cadet 2nd Lt. Noah Gibbs said in the release.
The cadets also plan to create a color guard team and hope to compete with squadrons nationwide.
