Steamboat Springs — In spite of bouts of heavy snow in Steamboat Springs on Tuesday, nine of 10 scheduled commercial airline flights made it in and out of Yampa Valley Regional Airport, according to air program officials with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp.
The airport was expected to see 410 arriving passengers and 644 departing passengers Tuesday. The only flight that was canceled was a midday United Express flight that did not depart Denver for YVRA because of the weather.
Two other Denver roundtrips and a departure from YVRA in the morning were completed.
Tuesday's roundtrip from Denver on Frontier Airlines was a little more than an hour late, arriving at 2:16 p.m.
The American Airlines flight from Chicago was expected to arrive at 3:15 p.m., almost 4 hours behind schedule. American's flight from Dallas got in just 34 minutes late, and the United/Continental flight from Houston arrived about 90 minutes behind schedule.
The Delta flight from Atlanta arrived at 2:20 p.m. about two hours and 15 minutes behind schedule, despite initially being diverted to Denver.
