Steamboat Springs — Two 18-year-olds and six juveniles face charges after they admitted to breaking into a North Routt County home and partying Friday night.
Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies were called Saturday morning to a report of a possible burglary in progress.
A caretaker arrived at the home in the 27000 block of Routt County Road 60A and discovered cars leaving. After describing the cars, deputies stopped one of them and contacted four people. Another four people were in another car.
Undersheriff Ray Birch said the teens admitted to entering the house, drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.
"They just chose to use the house to party," Birch said.
He said they drank alcohol that was in the house, but they cleaned up after themselves.
"They washed their dishes," Birch said.
The teens were cooperative with deputies and were released to their parents. The case will be handed over to the District Attorney's Office.
Birch said the teens, from the Clark and Steamboat area, potentially face charges of burglary, trespassing and theft.
