3rd arrest made in Subway safe theft in Steamboat

— A third Steamboat Springs resident thought to have been involved in a Saturday morning burglary at the Subway sandwich shop in Curve Plaza turned herself in Saturday afternoon, police said Sunday.

Steamboat Springs Police Department Sgt. Rich Brown said Marissa Lynn Bauder, 18, was arrested on suspicion of second degree burglary, theft and criminal mischief after she surrendered to police. Bauder was booked into the Routt County Jail at 4:35 p.m., according to jail records. Police said Thomas William Hall, 21, and Catherine May Schneegas, 18, also were arrested earlier Saturday on suspicion of breaking into the Subway and stealing a safe Saturday morning.

Using video surveillance, officers identified a vehicle and the three people who were possibly associated with the theft. The safe, which was estimated to contain $2,000, was recovered from Hall’s residence, police said Saturday.
