Barbara Hughes: Thank you blood donors

The numbers are in and Steamboat, Oak Creek and Hayden donors have done it again.

With 136 pints of blood donated at our Sept. 1 community blood drive, our donors helped to ensure that there was an adequate blood supply for the Labor Day weekend. Since each pint of blood donated can help to save or enhance the lives of up to three people, our donors potentially impacted over 400 lives.

In addition to a huge “thank you” to all of our donors, I have to once again thank Soda Creek Pizza, PowerICE and Honey Stinger for providing delicious snacks for all of our donors.

I hope to see you all again at our next drive, which will be held from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Bring a friend along and help to save even more lives.

With gratitude,

Barbara Hughes

Volunteer blood drive coordinator
