Oak Creek adopts 2015 comprehensive plan

Austin Colbert

The Oak Creek Town Board on Thursday approved and certified the 2015 Oak Creek Comprehensive Plan.

“As in previous plans, the community’s key concerns continue to be affordable housing, strengthening/diversifying the economy and preserving Oak Creek’s small town character,” the plan reads.

The next step will be for the Routt County Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners to finalize resolution to adopt the plan as a sub area plan of the Routt County master plan. No dates have been set for that decision.

Once the county resolution is finalized, it will be made available at the town of Oak Creek’s website.

The next Oak Creek Town Board meeting, a joint session with the Soroco School Board, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the South Routt School District administrative offices, 305 S. Grant Avenue in Oak Creek.

Items for discussion include the town’s comprehensive plan, economic development, the South Routt Recreation Association and the town’s marijuana industry.
