— The Puckett brothers led the way for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes during the weekend as local skiers continued to notch top results from events across the state, even in the season’s waning weeks.

Cooper Puckett scored a first-place finish and a fourth-place finish in giant slalom at the U12 Rocky Mountain Division Championships at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

Cole Puckett, meanwhile, was first in a giant slalom, fifth in super-G and seventh in a slalom race at the U14 Rocky Mountain Division Championships in Winter Park.

That was only the start for local athletes in those events.

At the U12 races, Nico Richeda was second in a boys GS, Cole Gedeon was eighth and ninth and Marat Washburn was 10th. Richeda carried on a strong weekend for himself with a pair of second-place finishes in slalom races. Washburn was fourth in one and Gedeon was eighth.

On the girls side, Molly Mueller was fifth in a Powderhorn GS and Ryli Adrian seventh. Molly Mueller was ninth in a slalom.

In Winter Park, Chase Seymour was eighth in a GS, and Trey Seymour was eighth in the Kombi boys competition.
