Vail takes top spots in weekend racing finale

— Vail skiers got the best of the competition Sunday at the final event of the SmartWool Championships in Steamboat Springs, winning the boys and girls divisions of a lighthearted parallel slalom event at Howelsen Hill.

Colby Lange won the boys side, defeating University of Colorado skier Mark Dennis in the final dual. Aspen skier Tristan Lane ended up third, and Steamboat’s Devin De Jong was fourth.

Vail’s Katelin Hennum was the girls champ, ahead of Hanna Mass, of Aspen, in second, Ruby Black in third and Mary Kate Hackworthy in fourth.
