Middle school wrestling wraps up with strong results for Steamboat, Soroco

— The final week of middle school wrestling for the Steamboat Springs and Soroco yielded more big results, including championship finishes for one wrestler from each school.

Jace Logan won the 115-pound bracket for Soroco on Saturday at the Western Slope Middle School Championships in Meeker.

Hunter Thvedt, of Steamboat, pulled off the same feat in the 90-pound division.

Tucker Havel kept up Steamboat’s success with a second-place finish in the 85-pound bracket, and Kyle Spognardi was second for Steamboat at 90 pounds. Evan Watson was third for Steamboat at 125 and Shay Adamo was third at 275. Jack Sittig was fourth at 120, Max Hall fifth at 80 and Landen Porteous fifth at 85.

Soroco got second-place finishes from Dalton Ray at 135 pounds and Blake Madera at 125, third-place showings from Jonathan Jerome at 105 and Navy Karow at 120 and a sixth-place finish out of Brad Veilleux at 80 pounds.
