Steamboat Springs On Thursday, Colorado Mountain College’s Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center and Yampa Valley SCORE will host a talk by Steve Muntean, of Muntean Leadership Group, as part of the Success Steps Seminar Series.
Randy Rudasics, of the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center, said he’s excited about the seminar, as Muntean is the most high-profile speaker to take part in the series to date.
Muntean is a nationally recognized speaker and consultant who recently moved to Steamboat Springs. He’s been involved with Leadership Steamboat and spoke at the last two Steamboat Springs Economic Summits.
Thursday’s seminar topic is “How to Grow Your Business Results Now.”
Muntean said the talk will be geared toward those who either own or run a business and have input into its growth.
Rudasics said he’s also inviting some CMC students to the seminar.
“It’s a chance to see how planning occurs,” Rudasics said.
Muntean said that anybody who’s interested in starting a business at some point could get something out of the event.
In the seminar, Muntean will focus on the importance of developing cohesive teams and what the qualities are of successful teams. He also will cover the requirements for organizational success, how important accountability is to an organization, creating clarity and buy-in and identifying goals.
“What’s important is you have to put together a great team,” Muntean said, and making sure they have the right strategy to reach the vision set out for the future.
Sometimes people get too much into the technical activities of the business and don’t spend enough time planning, Rudasics said.
“The goal here is to have people think about how to improve their business,” he said.
Muntean said he has about 10 clients in Steamboat and the topics that will be covered Thursday are things that apply to them and what they work on.
The point of the seminar, he said, is to have attendees leave with a concept for how to accelerate their companies’ performance.
The seminar is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 213 at Colorado Mountain College’s Alpine Campus. The cost is $15 and includes coffee and light snacks. Registration is required by calling 970-870-4491.
“When you have growth in metrics and a vision of the future based on growth, it excites people,” Muntean said.
