— The Steamboat Springs Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night at a residence at 3341 Après Ski Way.

Sgt. Rich Brown said a 30-year-old man called for help at midnight and said he had fallen on a knife. Police think there is more to the story, and Brown said police are following up with a suspect who might have been involved in the incident.

Brown said the victim's girlfriend and at least one other male roommate were at the residence when the alleged stabbing occurred.

Brown said the man was stabbed in the torso. He was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center and later released.

I've heard of "falling on a sword", but... a knife? No wonder that the police are investigating.

I used to be in property management. I once had a tenant who had to break his lease, as he was about to get free rent from the State after his wife had died from falling on a knife. Like, fourteen times. He claimed she fell down the stairs while holding the knife.
