I just wanted to give a warm and thankful shout-out to the folks at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club for welcoming my son and me so warmly to the last Hitchens Brothers Jump Series this past Wednesday night. We drove up from Erie on a whim so my son could give his dream of trying what he saw in the Olympics a try.
From Cindy in the club office, to Kristin and Kenny out in the booth, to Deanna who registered my son and told him how to jump and ended up taking pictures for us, the welcome was just so greatly appreciated and meant so much. Todd and Garrett, the two coaches that we met, were also so helpful, and we certainly hope it is possible to come back for more.
Regardless, though, we felt that Steamboat deserved kudos and thanks for being the little, unique gem that it is and also needs to be proud of its wonderful people representing the town. Kindness does matter — and we experienced it.
Thank you for the great time and memory.
