Karen Burley: Fundraiser a success

Due to the generosity of sponsors, silent auction donors and bidders, in-kind donors and the attendance of 250 individuals, The Haven’s fifth annual BBQ, Barn Dance and Silent Auction grossed over $10,000 for much needed maintenance and repairs at The Haven.

Proceeds from the event directly will benefit community seniors and will be designated for essential facility maintenance and repairs. The funds raised at this year’s event will be used to replace carpet and windows and will help with roof repairs.

I would like to thank the staff of The Haven and the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association. You volunteered your time to hang posters, make the fantastic food and advertise auction items online. You set up, cleaned up, provided activities for the kids and assured everyone had plenty to eat and lots of fun. We couldn’t do it without the generous donation of your time.

And thank you to the band Loose Change for providing the fantastic music.

I am so grateful for the generosity and support of the many individuals who get involved and help us with this annual event. I appreciate the soft spot you have in your hearts for our seniors and the home we provide for them.

Sincerely,

Karen Burley, director
