I always enjoy the surprise on the faces of first-time visitors to the Boys & Girls Club. Nearly every person has the same response, “I had no idea!”
Take a look inside a club, and you’ll be impressed by the concentration in homework help or moved by the creations underway in the art room.
The high level of energy and sportsmanship in the gymnasium will inspire you, and the demonstrations of leadership across the age groups will prove there is hope for the future. I am sure the overall happiness, graciousness and respect that make up the club environment also will please you.
Club programs are designed to unlock the personal best of every child who passes through our doors.
We strive every day to help the young people of Northwest Colorado reach their full potential in academics, athletics, arts, leadership, healthy life styles and more.
We are open when kids and families need us most, the after-school hours, school breaks and summer vacation from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Inside the club, kids are becoming better people, better members of the community, our future citizens, labor force and leaders. Through this dedication, great futures start here.
We are meeting a critical need in Steamboat Springs.
In 2013, the Steamboat club served more than 750 members or more than 50 percent of Steamboat’s youths ages 6 to 14.
The club has served nearly 1,700 members since inception in 2009 with an average daily attendance of 100 kids after school and 135 in the summer.
The Boys & Girls Club is a fun, low cost, flexible, drop-in program for youths. The annual membership fee is $25, the after-school program is free and school in-service days and summer program costs $1 per hour.
The club’s summer program kicks off Monday with a calendar full of fun activities and enriching opportunities. We have great field trips, teens-only programs, Olympic Day, learn to golf program and summer learning activities planned.
I know the multitude of activities will keep even the busiest kid happy and engaged throughout the summer.
Call the club at 970-871-3160 to learn more about the great things happening this summer.
If you have not visited the club, I hope you will call and schedule a tour. Come take a look inside where donations are being invested; where families are supported; and where children’s lives are being enriched. Call me to arrange a visit or ask any questions. I am sure you will say, “I had no idea!”
