Soroco High School boys basketball coach Jake Eskridge said senior forward Ryan Jeep was unstoppable Friday night and the Rams rode Jeep’s big game to their first win of 2014.
Soroco went on the road to beat Belleview Christian on Friday, 61-45, getting a whooping 32 points from Jeep.
“They had no answer for him,” Eskridge said. “We were very deliberate to get him the ball. We needed to pound it inside, and that’s what we did.”
The Rams broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter, turning a five-point game into a 16-point rout.
The team also got 11 points from Matt Regan and seven from Eric Logan, who Eskridge pointed to as a strong defender on the night.
The win bumped Soroco to 5-5 and snapped a four-game losing streak.
“We finally played four quarters of basketball,” Eskridge said. “We played better defensively early in the game and we shot the ball decent. I was pleased with the effort, and that we finally put a whole game together.”
