Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:37 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a Colorado Mountain College student with marijuana in the dorms. The student had a medical marijuana license, so a summons was not issued.

1:20 a.m. Officers were called to a report of loud music in the 700 block of Yampa Street. A verbal warning was given.

10:23 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who got into an argument with a driver illegally parked in a handicapped spot in the 2000 block of Curve Plaza. Police were unable to locate the driver.

11:20 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury crash at Lincoln Avenue and Indian Trails. There were five other crashes throughout the day, but no serious injuries were reported.

12:01 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a $1,200 ring lost somewhere in the area of a bar in the 700 block of Yampa Street.

2:38 p.m. Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers were called to help a 52-year-old woman who hit a downed tree and crashed her snowmobile near Dumont Lake on Rabbit Ears Pass. She had abdominal pain and was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

4:51 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who lost a cellphone somewhere in Steamboat.

The CMC report is of concern. A student with a medical MJ pass was smoking MJ. Other students were exposed. This is not like taking a pill although all the medicinal effects of MJ can be had by taking a pill available thru normal Pharmacies.

I wouldn't want my child having to live with a stoner regardless of his or her medical "needs".

I'd pull the kid as fast as I could and file a federal law suite.
