The Hayden High School girls basketball team again found itself fending off a surging opponent on Saturday, and just like it did the day before, it held on.
The Tigers beat Encampment on the road 47-43 to improve to 3-4 in varsity action.
“The kids played really well,” coach Michelle Wilkie said.
Hayden led by as many as 13, but Encampment dug into that lead, and the game was close through the fourth quarter.
Wilkie said the difference was in offensive execution and the team’s ability to handle full-court pressure.
“The girls did a really nice job of executing the offense and getting some good feeds inside,” she said. “They played together and executed the press breaker well. It was a good game for us.”
Taylor Hagar and Grace Wilkie each scored 12 to lead the team. Olivia Zehner had 10.
