Sheraton Steamboat Resort upgrades still under construction

— The main entry drive to the Sheraton Steamboat Resort still is under construction, but guests now can access the front of the hotel.

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort has been undergoing more than $16 million worth of upgrades, starting during the fall.

A snowmelt system for the entry and a new pool deck previously were slated to be completed in December, but a section of Village Inn Court linking the front entry circle to Ski Time Square Drive and the pool area still are under construction.

Guests were being routed to the conference center entrance near the pool, but they now can access the front of the building from Ski Time Square Drive next to Torian Plum Plaza, Director of Sales and Marketing Kristal Eckley said.

The Sheraton’s parking garage also is accessible from the new entrance, Eckley said.

The pool deck still requires significantly more work than the entry’s snowmelt system.

Eckley said that the timeline for both projects is being re-evaluated with the contractors, but work will continue through the winter.

Now there is some genius planning by a company not familiar with renovating in this climate and how smart to start that project so late in fall. If I were a guest checking in paying $500 or more a night I would be expecting some type of compensation for that mess at a resort like the Sheraton.
