Steamboat Springs During its 6 p.m. Thursday meeting, the Oak Creek Town Board will hold an executive session to consider purchasing land at 24120 Routt County Road 25 for the public works department.
The land would be used to allow for the future expansion of the town’s shop and water plant, according to town documents.
Oak Creek has been represented by Jill Brabec in the negotiations because its town attorney, Bob Weiss, has a conflict of interest with the property’s owner, Golden Stream Investments.
The contract will be presented to the Town Board during the executive session before the board exits the session to vote on the matter.
Brabec’s counsel will cost the town $180 per hour, and neither the fees nor the cost of the property were included in the 2014 budget. A condition of the contract states that a supplemental budget must be passed for 2014 and a separate appropriation included in the 2015 budget.
The Town Board also will consider a land use change of minor impact for the Caboose Restaurant at 201 Nancy Crawford Blvd. from commercial to residential.
