Blackmer Trail and all trails that access Emerald Mountain will be closed temporarily from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Saturday. The trails will be closed to all public access for safety reasons because of fireworks being launched for the 101st Winter Carnival night show. Signs will be posted at the Blackmer trailhead, and the city of Steamboat Springs requests that people respect this closure for safety reasons. Christian Science Society service at 9 a.m. this week
Christian Science Society will be holding church services on Sunday at 9 a.m. instead of 10:30 a.m. because of the Winter Carnival events. Normal hours will resume the following Sunday.
‘Giselle, The Movie’ to be screened at library Feb. 25
Bud Werner Memorial Library, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp and Steamboat Dance Theatre will present “Giselle, The Movie,” a film by director Toa Fraser, at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at Library Hall. The film brings The Royal New Zealand Ballet to the big screen, capturing the acclaimed production of the two-act classic ballet featuring American Ballet Theatre star Gillian Murphy as the dance-mad villager, with scenes of the lead dancers in Shanghai and New York counterpointing the onstage action. Part of the Dance on Film series, the free evening includes an introduction by dance history professor and Perry-Mansfield Executive Director Joan Lazarus.
Colorado You Got Talent local auditions on March 9
Colorado You Got Talent will travel to 64 counties in 64 days for auditions throughout the state. Colorado You Got Talent will hold auditions in Steamboat Springs from 2 to 6 p.m. March 9 at Elevation Dance Studio, 326 Oak St.
There are youth and adult divisions for singers, dancers, magicians and performing artists. Those interested will be competing for a spot in the State Northern Regional Finals on Aug. 2 at Loveland’s Rialto Theater. Winners of the State Regional Finals will move on to the State Finals at Town Hall Center in Littleton on Oct. 19, where each performer will compete for their county in a final showdown.

Hayden church is offering 6-week parenting program
Hayden Congregational Church, located at 202 E. Jefferson Ave. in Hayden, will be offering “Parenting the Love and Logic Way” on Sundays beginning 4 p.m. Sunday.
