Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:26 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of someone who had broken a sign at a hot dog stand on Lincoln Avenue. Officers contacted the person, and the business did not want to press charges.

2:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of cyclists not stopping at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Old Fish Creek Falls Road. Officers issued written warnings to the cyclists.

3:26 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a missing person in the 50 block of Anglers Drive. A family got separated while tubing, and a 5-year-old girl went a different route from the family. Officers were able to catch up with the girl and reunite her with her family.

7:55 p.m. Officers were called to a report of loud motors revving in the area of the 70 block of Anglers Drive. Officers were able to contact the motorists and quiet them down.

9:50 p.m. Officers were called to a general fireworks complaint near Sandhill Circle and Hilltop Parkway. Officers were unable to locate anyone involved.

10:50 p.m. Officers were called to a report of juveniles drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in a car parked at the 2900 block of Lincoln Avenue. A report was made.

11:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. Someone was running down the alley behind a business, trying to hide from police after he was contacted for being highly intoxicated. Officers found the man and told him to leave the area.

11:10 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 30 block of Valverdant Circle. A man violated his protection order, was contacted by police and tried to run away. Officers arrested the man for obstruction of a peace officer.

11:12 p.m. Officers were called to a general fireworks complaint in the 1000 block of Village Lane. Officers were unable to locate anyone involved.

11:59 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a loud party in the 1400 block of Flattop Circle. The party had been an ongoing issue for a few straight days, and officers again advised partygoers to be quiet.

2:42 pm Cyclists not stopping at stop signs?! Hard to believe in Bike Town USA?! Even harder to believe written warnings were issued.

They should have been ticketed just the same as any motorist would be. Quit nanpy pampy bicyclist, the message needs to get through to abide by the traffic laws here in the (self-anointed) "Bike Town USA>
