Police, fire and ambulance calls

7:57 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of students stealing food from the cafeteria.

10:11 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person at Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue who lost a wallet.

2:25 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a teenaged male who had covered his license plate with foil in the 3100 block of Willowbrook Court. The teen said he covered his license plate because he thought a man was looking at him funny. The teen was told it was illegal to cover his license plate.

4:57 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a moose at Steamboat Springs High School.

5:12 p.m. Officers were called to a report of fraud. A person reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to work at the legal affairs department at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The caller wanted the person to wire money.

5:23 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a fight at a bar in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive. A man with dreadlocks reportedly threw a pint glass at a bartender. The suspect said someone bumped into him and almost spilled his drink, and he didn’t want to wait 15 minutes to get another beer. The man said that out of frustration, he threw his beer on the floor, but he denied throwing the glass. It was reported that the glass struck a pillar and shattered by a bartender’s head. The 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

6:51 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an aggressive hitchhiker who stepped into traffic at Third Street and Lincoln Avenue. The woman could not be found.

7:34 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a loud party in the 2600 block of Alpenglow Way.

8:10 p.m. Officers were called to a report of fireworks near Laurel Lane. The source of the fireworks could not be located.
