The Young Professionals Network will host a panel of local financial experts from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at The Boathouse Pub. Panel members include a financial adviser from Edward Jones, the assistant controller for One Steamboat Place and a financial rep with Northwestern Mutual.
The discussions will focus on important financial considerations and making investments and will include a Q-and-A session with the panelists.
The event, which includes lunch, is free for YPN members and $10 for nonmembers. YPN is a networking group for all professionals.

Wild game jerky workshop at fairgrounds on Monday
A wild game jerky workshop is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Routt County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 365 S. Poplar St., Hayden. CSU Morgan County Extension agent Luann Boyer will share the latest wild game jerky making methods as well as providing a hands-on opportunity to make your own. The cost is $20 and includes dinner. Workshop about joy will be Oct. 5 at the Yoga Center
A workshop about joy is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Yoga Center of Steamboat, 701 Yampa St. The workshop will explore misperceptions of the ego by examining the patterns of the enneagram, the study of the nine basic types of people, according to a news release. The program is led by licensed professional counselor Sherry Benson and Chopra Center yoga instructor Patty Zimmer. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the class.
