Police, fire and ambulance calls

1:21 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of people refusing to leave a bar in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue.

3:57 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a stabbing at Colorado Mountain College. A student was playing with a knife and accidentally dropped it on his forearm. He was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

8:28 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a man suffering from an unknown medical problem in the 1100 block of Redwoods Drive. The man had died, and it is suspected he died from a medical issue.

9:33 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a car that hit a deer at Anglers Drive and South Lincoln Avenue. No one was hurt, but the car was heavily damaged.

10:08 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bike found in the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

1:35 p.m. Officers were called to a report of rocks thrown through a windshield of a backhoe in the 500 block of Robin Court.

1:51 p.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a person in the 2300 block of Oxford Way. A man possibly had a stroke and was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

2:54 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a stolen car at a hotel in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle. Police said a man took a rental car that had been dropped off at the valet, drove it around and then returned to the hotel. The man told police he “wanted to see what happened” if he took the car. Police said they think the man was under the influence of drugs and possibly was suffering from mental health issues. A 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft.

3:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an SUV and a school bus involved in a crash at Fifth and Oak streets. No one was injured, and there were no children in the bus. The driver of the SUV was given a ticket.

7:48 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person who fainted in the 2700 block of Village Drive.

8:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a $250 jacket that had been stolen the previous night from a bar in the 800 block of Yampa Street.

10:17 p.m. Officers were called to check on a drunken man at Hilltop Parkway and South Lincoln Avenue. The man had stumbled into a car. He could not be found.

10:53 p.m. Officers and Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a disturbance in the 32700 block of South Elk Drive.
